Since the inception in 2011, our preparation approach has been quite traditional. First, we do a lot of research in analyzing the “boundary” of the syllabus. Then within that boundary, we provide “maximum possible coverage” of concepts. What we do not do, is to try to find out what is more important or less important within that boundary. We study everything like a dedicated student.
We believe that there is no one, who can guess important questions in objective exams (yes, we can identify some most repeating concepts; but is that sufficient for securing a seat?….NO). The only way to crack Coal India exam is to cover the full syllabus within boundary >> Then practice a lot of questions from that topic>> and you are ready for that topic. The detailed syllabus published by the Coal India in last exam (2020) is given here Paper 1 and Paper 2.
For 2022 exam, the Coal India has not disclosed the syllabus of exam till now. We expect that the syllabus is likely to remain same in 2022. Human Peritus has designed its course based on the syllabus of 2020 exam only. However, if Coal India makes any changes in the syllabus, Human Peritus takes responsibility of providing additional content free of cost. If there are minor changes, then updated content will be provided in 7-10 days. If there are major/unfamiliar changes, then our team might need more time for preparation of content.
We did a detailed analysis of General Knowledge section of Paper 1. It has 25 questions.
We advise not to study any topic of General Knowledge except one topic Current affairs. This is so because ROI of putting in efforts for these topics is very low. For example, for the topic of ‘Indian Polity and Constitution’, you need to study couple of hundreds of pages, but in exam, you will find only 1-2 questions from this topic. Take another example, you need to study NCERT science books of 6th to 10th to get 1-2 questions of General Science.
We advise to focus on remaining three sections of Paper 1(Numerical Ability, Reasoning and English) and Paper 2 (complete syllabus), where ROI is 10 times higher. For example, you need to go through only 4-5 pages of Coding-Decoding and you will get 1-2 questions on this.

Our analysis of previous papers says that the Current Affairs for Coal India exam is static and factual in nature (there is nothing conceptual, which requires teaching). The teacher does not add any value by reading that facts out in a class. In fact if you can cover 10 issues by self reading in X time, the teacher will be able to cover just 2-3 issues in X time.
Please note that, there is no need to refer newspapers or any other source for current affairs. Our booklets are sufficient. However, it is advisable to keep reading at least 1 newspaper, as it helps you in interview as well.
From a coverage point of view, the Study Material will give you 100% coverage, but the probability of selection is much higher (4 times) in video classes program, because of the following reasons:
(i) a Large number of topics require conceptual clarity, which will need a teacher to make it easier, like EOQ, Numerical Ability, Computer Architecture.
(ii) With tips and tricks, the teacher makes it easier to remember.
(iii) If it takes x hours to prepare without a teacher, then it will take only 0.4x hours with a teacher. Since time for Coal India exam is limited, you need someone to make it quicker for you.
(iv) You get into discipline because now someone else is pushing you towards completion of the syllabus (this is the biggest contributor)
(v) While teaching, the teacher explains how questions are framed from a given topic.
