Investigator Grade-I Labour Bureau exam by UPSC 2024
The UPSC has prescribed a detailed Syllabus for the vanacy of Investigator Grade 1 for Labour Bureau. The syllabus can be divided into following 9 sub-headings.
Out of these 9 subheadings, our course at Human Peritus covers everything except Point no. 1 and Point no. 8. This will give you coverage of around 80% of syllabus.

1. Population and Survey
(i) Composition of India’s population: demographic, social, economic and cultural factors affecting age-sex structure of population and its relevance in population dynamics, Levels, trends and differentials of mortality and fertility indicators. (ii) Population ageing: concepts and measures of population ageing, components of population ageing. Trends and pattern of ageing in India and States (iii) Demographic dividend & demographic rates and ratios. (iv) Evolution and development of population policies and family welfare programmes in India. Population surveys: meaning, scope, uses, limitations; major surveys: national sample surveys (NSS), reproductive and child health survey (RCHS), national family heath surveys (NFHS).
2. Statistics, Sampling, Time Series and Index numbers
Statistical methods of population analysis: frequency distribution, descriptive and Inductive statistics, measures of central tendency (mean, median, and mode); measure of dispersion (range, variance and standard deviation); correlation and linear regression, introduction to testing of statistical hypothesis and test of significance. Sample and Population, Sampling Unit, Sampling frame, Sampling fraction, errors in a survey, Sampling with and without replacement, Simple random sampling, Stratified random sampling, Systematic sampling, Cluster sampling, Multistage sampling. Definition and components of a Time Series, various Models, Measurement of Secular trend and Seasonal Variations, Uses of time series, Criteria of a good index number, Problems in Data collection and construction, Price and cost of living index numbers; Base shifting and splicing, deflating of index numbers.

The Learning Management System (LMS) is accessible via the browser on any desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device. However, for optimal learning, it is advisable to use a desktop or laptop. Please note that only one login is allowed at a time.
Access to LMS will be for 1 year from the date of payment.
The fee mentioned on the website is final and it includes 18% GST, courier charges and everything else. Beyond it, there are no discounts.

- Section 29, 103 and 104 of Trade Marks Act 1999 (infringement and penalty)
- Section 1(2) read with Section 75 of the Information Technology Act 2000.
