Analysis of HRM & Labour Welfare subject Code 55 of UGC NET Jun 2019
Analysis HRM and Labour Welfare (code 55) subject - held on 24 Jun 2019
The UGC NET for HRM and Labour Welfare (Code 55) was conducted in the second half of 24 June 2019. The difficulty level of the paper was same as earlier exam of Dec 2018.
The Cut off for Human Resource Management and Labour Welfare in Dec 2018 was
Unreserved: 68% (JRF) and 59% (NET)
OBC: 64% (JRF) and 53% (NET)
SC: 61% (JRF) and 51% (NET)
ST: 44% (JRF) and 50% (NET) (yes, cut off for ST was higher than SC)
This time, the cut off is likely to remain same (or may be go high by 1-2 percentage. The difficulty level of Paper 1 is relatively easier this time.
After every NET exam, we at Human Peritus, analyse, how many questions appeared from Study Material Package of Human Peritus. This number was 90% in July 2018 and 82% in Dec 2018. Since, syllabus got changed, this time, we expected that, the coverage will go down. But, after analysing the paper of 24 June 2019, we have found that, this time, 88% of Paper is from Human Peritus material. Yes, if someone would have studied only from Human Peritus Package (and nothing else, no other book, no previous paper), She/he would have easily scored above 88% in HRM and LW-Code 55.
The credit for this goes to our “Structured Methodology” of preparing content. Our team, analysed every question, that appeared in any paper since year 2009. Our subject matter expert team (all of whom are NET/JRF qualified), had brainstorming session on each keyword of revised syllabus, to identity, what should be excluded/included in the content. Lot of research is conducted before finalizing anything in content.
We are publishing below, Question by Question Analysis, on what was covered (and what not), with the source in our material.
Some of key highlights of the Paper are:
1. As estimated by Human Peritus team, there were few questions from the labour acts, which are not explicitly mention in the new syllabus. For example, there were questions on Maternity Benefit Act 1961, ESIC Act 1948, Employee Compensation Act 1923 (although, they are not clearly mentioned).
Questions were asked from all acts, which are mentioned in the syllabus. All are covered in HP material.
There were no questions on the Unorganized Workers Act 2008, Apprentice Act 1961, Bonded Labour Systems Act 1961.
2. This time, there were few new topics in syllabus. Human Peritus team was correctly able to guess potential coverage of these topics. For example, headquarters of DGMS (from topic of Industrial Accidents and Safety)..Another question on Current Weekly Status (Indian Labour Market composition).
3. There are new types of questions on “Economics” of labour market.
4. Although HR and OB are totally theoretical topics, almost every question appeared from concise booklets of Human Peritus, for these topics.
5. Earlier, there used to be questions on RULES of few acts like Employment Standing Order, ESIC. This time, there were no questions on Rules.
6. There were no questions on labour in USA and UK. Similarly no questions on other International Organization (other than ILO). No questions on Quality Management.
7. More or less, the NTA has sticked to the prescribed syllabus. 10 Questions from each of 10 units, as prescribed in the Syllabus.
We update our Study Material package every 6 months. Next updated package for Dec 2019 will be available from 01 July 2019, which you can order by following the steps listed on the website. This time, we are making number of MAJOR changes in the entire content, to take you closest to actual exam.
